Hb-022 Inc. ("Hb-022," "we") is a company based in Austin, Texas, USA. We help science-led founders prepare for Series A funding. This policy explains what personal information we collect through hb-022.com and our services, how we use it, and your rights.

02What we collect
- Readiness Diagnostic: your name, work email, and optionally your company and role. We also record your company type, your answers, your score, and when you gave consent.
- Investor Question Bank: your name and email.
- Enquiries, review calls and engagements: the information you send us or discuss with us.
- Website use: aggregated visit data collected through our hosting provider's analytics.
We don't ask for details of your inventions. Please don't send them before an NDA is in place, because disclosing an unfiled invention can affect whether it can still be patented.
03How we use it
- To send your Readiness Diagnostic results and follow up about them, with your consent.
- To send occasional insights, only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To deliver services you engage us for, under our agreement with you.
- To understand how the website is used, which we review regularly to improve it. Analytics cookies are only used with your consent (see Cookies).
We don't make automated decisions about you. Your Readiness Diagnostic score is guidance, not an assessment with legal effect.
05Confidential information
We keep the confidential information we handle to a minimum, and handle it under NDA. Information counts as confidential if you mark it confidential when you share it, or if you confirm in writing within 24 hours of sharing it that it is confidential.
The analysis and deliverables we produce are sent to you. Once they are delivered, keeping your own copies is your responsibility.
06How long we keep it
- Readiness Diagnostic and Investor Question Bank: we delete your answers and details one week after you submit them. If you opted in to our insights emails, we keep only your name and email for that purpose until you unsubscribe.
- Clients: when you confirm a deliverable is final, we delete all confidential information and project data we hold. We keep only records the law requires us to keep, such as contracts and invoices, and these never include your confidential information.
- Case studies: we keep only anonymized case studies and quotes that you have approved in writing.
07International transfers
Our service providers may store data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, for example for users in the EU or UK, we rely on recognised safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
08Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- give you access to your personal information
- correct it
- delete it
- withdraw your consent at any time
- restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a portable copy (EU and UK)
- let someone act on your behalf (India)
Email privacy@hb-022.com. We'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, or in India to the Data Protection Board of India.
09Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls and the security features of our service providers. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
10Children
Our website and services are not intended for anyone under 18.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. We'll notify you by email of significant changes if you're on our list.
